Learning Outcomes

1. Students will be able to explain the difference between stereotypes, prejudice, bias, and bigotry, and respond in ways that reflect community ideals.

2. Students will understand and be able to articulate how their own cultural beginnings and experiences contribute to who they are and how they view the world.

3. Students will constructively discuss and question preconceived notions about themselves and of others.

4. To expand their lenses, students will engage the experiences and views of others, strive for authenticity and respect, and effectively manage conflict when it occurs.

5. Students will be able to describe differences between “one and done service/charity” and “social justice/solidarity” in light of Catholic Social Teaching and Dominican values.

6. Students will create and maintain inclusive communities that respect the essential dignity of every individual.
